Top 10 Stack Day Tips.
1. Use the Stack of The Week found in the Chapter Builder of this website. If your chapter already has the Stack of the Week in the chapter, pick an alternate but important, missing profession.
2. Stack Days are not scheduled. They start now and end when your chapter reaches its goal.
3. 30+ phone calls are best. If you have less than 30 members in your chapter, consider more than 1 phone call per person. It takes an average of 10 calls or invites to get 1 person to come to a meeting.
4. Call only one profession per week. Two calls to the same profession are better than one call to two different professions. The goal is to create an interview process with several conflicting professionals. You are hiring the best referrak partner. You are offering them the opportunity to apply to be your referral partner.
5. Members will forget their calls. The chapter must have one or two designated people that will remind the others to call. These members should be dependable, strong members and should not change. They are called THE BULLDOGS! Stack days without bulldogs will not be effective.
6. Announce next week's stack at today's meeting. Have The Bulldog call the members 2 days before the meeting (in the morning) and 1 day before the meeting. The member tells The Bulldog who he/she called.
7. Make sure the Visitors know you are interviewing so that they are not surprised to see their competitors in the room, applying for the same position.
8. Consider a fun prize, such as the chapter pays for a 1 to 1 lunch for the inviting sponsor and the new member from the stack. This can be a great tool to get the new member to hit the ground running and also scheduled into the MSP program, right away.
9. Let any applicant who was not accepted down respectfully by thanking them and referring them to the Area Director's office for a possible interview with another chapter or for placement into a newly forming chapter. Treating them professionally now will maintain favorable dispostion towards your chapter and possible interst should the spot ever open again.
10. The Membership Committee must process the applications on the day they are received and have a decision before the next meeting. If accepted, one thing that will impress next week's Visitors is when you induct last week's applicants as a new member to your chapter!
